Our Tallgrass Surgical Centerl is seeking a PACU RN. We are looking for your experience, knowledge and patient care skills where you will be responsible for:

Admit the patient to the preoperative unit, assist with the physical preparation of the patient for surgery, check chart for completeness, perform preoperative preps as ordered by physician and explain surgical routine to the patient. Provide professional nursing care to the patient in the immediate postoperative period (PACU). Assess patient’s physical and psychological needs. Evaluate and implement appropriate measures to assure a safe recovery from anesthesia. Prepare patient for discharge and discharge patient safely from Center. The preoperative, PACU, and discharge nurse serves as a patient advocate in the provision of care and is responsible for ensuring patient safety during preop, intraoperatively, and postop during recovery from anesthesia.

In addition, the RN will also be responsible for making pre-op phone calls to patients when needed.

Qualifications:


  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing;

  • Current Nursing License in the State of Kansas;

  • Current BLS certification;

  • Current ACLS certification;

  • PALS certifications, as required for primary PACU RN (PRN RNs excluded);

  • Two years of experience preferred.
