Job Description: JOB DUTIES - Assessment and identification of patient needs, implementation of appropriate interventions and delegation of nursing care activities. Establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care, assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems and performs technical aspects of care competently (aseptic technique, safe equipment operation, patient positioning and patient and staff safety). Demonstrate computer literacy and competence in use of existing technology. Works with surgical technologists, orderlies, and other staff to perform post-case cleaning duties. Trained yearly on age specific care and completes core competencies for patient populations designated in the Scope of Service. Follows Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures. Professional Practice is based on the theoretical framework of nursing at Baptist Health Paducah including principles of Relationship-Based Care, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Standards of Professional Practice, and the Kentucky Nurse Practice Act. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITY - Current licensure by the Kentucky State Board of Nursing is required. One year nursing experience is preferred. Supervised by the department director, nurse manager and charge nurse on shift worked. Supervise all other employees assigned to department on that shift, when in charge. As staff nurse, has supervision over employees assigned to their room. Performance evaluations are conducted at the end of the three-month probationary period by the director/ nurse manager, and annually thereafter.
