The staff nurse is responsible for coordinating the total nursing care to an assigned group of patients providing the professional leadership necessary to develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care. In accordance with the Missouri Nurse Practice Act and Capital Region Medical Center's policies and standards, the staff nurse assumes the role of leader, educator, preceptor, caregiver, and/or supervisor in the provision of nursing care.
Education: Associate degree
RN license or a graduate of a nursing program may practice as a graduate nurse until he/she has received the results of the first licensure examination taken by the nurse or until ninety (90) days after graduation, whichever first occurs.
