Unit Description:
2 East is an exciting and dynamic trauma/surgical unit. The unit consists of 20 bed unit with 14 trauma beds, 6 medical/surgical beds reserved for the care of 23 hour observation patients as well as admitted patients who have sustained orthopedic, neurological, blunt force, or penetrating trauma. The other ten beds are reserved for the pre and post operative nursing care of patients with the following types of surgeries: General, Vascular, Thoracic, Abdominal, Gastrointestinal, Urology, Bariatric, and ENT. 2 East will provide valuable experience and fundamental learning for an RN who is looking to gain trauma and med/surg expertise and certification for the experienced RN. RNs on 2 East enjoy a mutual respect and collaboration with St. John Providence Health physicians and multidisciplinary care teams.
Scheduled Hours:
FT Nights- This associate will work three 12 hour shifts per week from 7:00PM through 7:30AM. This will include rotating weekends and holidays.
Graduate Nurses are also welcome to apply!What You Will Do: Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

  • Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
What You Will Need: Licensure / Certification / Registration:
  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:
  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
