Position Summary: RN- Clinical Outcomes Coordinator - Emergency Department

The Registered Nurse - Clinical Outcomes Coordinator (COC) is an experienced nurse who engages with clinical staff to drive the improvement of key nursing quality performance indicators. The COC reports to the Nurse Manager on the Telemetry and works collaboratively with the Clinical Nurse Education Team.

RN - Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates outcomes, identifies quality issues through direct observation, EMR audits and interpretation/analysis of quality data, and leads improvement activities on the unit.
  • Collaborates, mentors, educates and coaches staff in the development and application of critical thinking in order to ensure practice is evidence based and achieves excellent quality outcomes.
  • Plans, implements, and evaluates educational activities to promote high standards of nursing practice on the Telemetry Unit

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in acute care nursing practice required
  • Experience in quality improvement and evidence-based project implementation required.

  • Experience in a Magnet designated hospital preferred

Education:

  • Graduation from a Registered Professional Nursing Program.
  • Current license and registration to practice Registered Professional Nursing in New York State
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred; new hires will be required to complete their BSN within 5 years of hire.
