Job Detail Job Description: I. PURPOSE OF JOB: To provide professional nursing care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, to collaborate with the physician's medical plan, and to execute the objectives and the policies of the hospital. II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assesses, plans, implements, documents, coordinates, and manages patient care according to department and hospital standards and giving consideration to age-specific accommodations Utilizes managerial skills to effectively direct other nursing personnel and coordinate patient care as required by the Nurse Practice Act and department and hospital standards. Communicates with patients, physicians, family members and other health care disciplines in achieving excellence in patient care during hospitalization and at discharge planning. Utilizes analytical skills to provide efficient patient care and be able to handle critical situations in a timely manner and safe manner. Demonstrates ability to be technically competent in all psychomotor interventions when administering physical and psychological care to patients according to department specific skills checklist. Demonstrates leadership skills in team interactions and enhancing interpersonal relationships to create a cohesive and productive environment. Recognizes the existence of cultural differences and utilizes appropriate resources available throughout the Hospital to respond to the needs of the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient, family member and/or visitor. Demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and ethical standards in the performance of their duties with integrity and to comply with all applicable laws in a manner that excludes considerations of personal advantage or gain. Adheres to Doylestown Hospital's Corporate Compliance Plan, and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Complies with HIPAA privacy rules by only discussing, or seeking out information about the status of patients to whom care is being provided with others providing care to that same patient, and ensuring such discussion takes place in a confidential setting. Job Qualifications: A. Education: 1. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. 2. Current licensure in Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of State Bureau of Occupational and Professional Affairs and Successful completion of appropriate continuing education specific to job requirements B. Experience: Critical Care; PACU Exp. Preferred C. Other Skills: 1. Certified in B.L.S. - C.P.R.; ACLS, PALS 2. Interpersonal skills 3. Competency in Administration Conscious Sedation
