UPMC is currently seeking caring and compassionate licensed professional Critical Care (CCU), Intensive Care (ICU), Medical/Surgical (Med Surg), and Specialty RNs to work on a casual basis within our central nursing float pool. Our professional registered nurses (RNs) work per-diem assignments throughout UPMC's Central PA hospitals.

As a large health system where many departments operate on a 24/7 basis, we have staffing needs for almost every day and every shift. Our opportunities are driven by the scheduling needs of our facilities, which means you can often work where you want, when you want.

Responsibilities:

  • Assume day-to-day assignments at a variety of UPMC facilities in Central Pennsylvania, in line with your clinical skills and experience.
  • Take personal responsibility in improving patient satisfaction by delivering excellent quality of care and service.

Qualifications

  • One year of registered nurse experience required.
  • Bachelor of nursing preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • RN Licensure in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania is required.
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
  • NIHSS certification required within 60 days of hire.
  • Basic Life Support or Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
  • Certified National Institute of Health Stroke
  • Registered Nurse

  • Act 33 Child Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
