The nurses in the Emergency Department of the George Washington University Hospital (GW Hospital) are Defining Medicine through their capacity to think, research, discover, evaluate, teach, learn, refine, and innovate. We are seeking experienced emergency RNs who want to work in an environment which fosters positive patient outcomes through a collaborative practice model and evidence-based nursing practice. WHAT YOU WILL DO
- As a center for trauma and critical care, nurses care for a variety of critical care patients including but not limited to Stroke, Myocardial Infarction and Trauma.
- Construct and implement the plan of care using nursing knowledge and skill. Integrates direct and indirect patient care activities related to the diagnosis and co-morbidities.
- Coordinates the implementation of the interdisciplinary plan of care for assigned patients. Develops goals, treatment plans, and discharge plans that meet individual patient/family needs.
- Integrates a patient centered approach involving the patient and family into the plan of care.
- Provide safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy.
