Swedish Medical Center is looking for a RN Administrative Supervisor (Per diem, Variable Shift) to work in Nursing Support Services Services at Swedish Edmonds in Edmonds, WA.

Oversees medical center operations on shift of responsibility to ensure that quality patient care is delivered in accordance with Swedish Edmonds Medical Center's mission, vision and values.

In this position you will:

  • Makes daily shift rounds and communicates with the nurse in charge to assure that patient care needs are met. Assists nursing staff in the delivery of patient care, as needed, by interpreting and enforcing standards. Assists with the provision of patient care in crisis situations.
  • Communicates concerns regarding delivery of patient/family care to the Manager. Assists the nursing staff in their role of patient advocate to clarify and evaluate ethical and/or legal issues, and communicates to the Manager as appropriate.
  • Accountable for appropriate placement of patients. Allocates resources for quality care. Assists in achieving the department budget plan to provide cost-effective patient care delivery. Utilizes the Manager’s staffing guidelines to meet patient care needs. Communicates to the Manager changes in the staffing plan which affect quality care and the department’s budget. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement in the efficient provision of patient care.
  • Provides feedback to the Manager regarding staff performance and competency on an ongoing basis and as requested. Contributes to the identification of staff learning needs in collaboration with the Manager. Facilitates active participation of staff in educational and professional activities. Guides staff in meeting existing or additional role expectations. As a mentor, counsels staff in problem solving and decision-making. Assists Manager of Nursing Resource Office with management of nursing float pool personnel.
  • Represents Swedish Edmonds Medical Center to patients, visitors, medical staff, media, and others in the absence of executive management.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing from an accredited school. Applicants without a BSN degree must actively pursue and attain a BSN within five years of hire.
  • Registered Nurses employed by Swedish prior to December 1, 2012 are encouraged to pursue the BSN degree, but obtaining the degree will not be a condition of employment.
  • 5 years Clinical experience.
  • 2 years Experience in a leadership role.
  • Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Washington.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN).
  • ACLS required within 2 months of hire.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree Nursing or related field.
