Work Hours/Shifts:

PRN Day Shift

You Will Be Responsible For:

• Provides guidance for the charge auditors regarding nursing/physician documentation requirements offering nursing insight and expertise
• Ensures charge accuracy by reviewing patient charts and corresponding charges for appropriateness.
• Provides training and mentoring for all new charge auditor employees within their scope of auditing i.e.: ED, OR, IP, etc.
• Coordinates continuity of auditing practices and takes initiative to ensure appropriate levels of auditing are provided.

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

• ASN, BSN or LPN degree
• Current GA RN/LPN license
• Computer skills in Word & Excel software progrms required
• Three years of acute care experience preferred

Job Summary:

Audits assigned accounts to ensure that patients are appropriately billed for all chargeable items indicated in the medical/clinical record. Advises, educates, and acts as clinical/charges liaison between clinical departments, business office and finance staff providing recommendations to improve processes, revenue, cash flow, and strengthen controls. Follows up to verify that appropriate corrections are made such that bills can be dropped in a timely manner. Provides guidance and support for the charge auditors.
