Financial Analyst- Revenue Cycle

  • The Financial Analyst of Revenue Cycle’s primary role is to identify, quantify and prioritize opportunities to improve net revenue, reduce bad debt and improve cash collections.
  • The incumbent will also be responsible for the development of financial models and other analysis related to the development and implementation of solutions in revenue cycle areas.
  • The Financial Analyst must have a strong accounting foundation and be very familiar with financial statements as it relates to Revenue Cycle. The Financial Analyst of Revenue Cycle helps to track, identify, trend, and reconcile billing and collections metrics to improve cash flow and manage the overall health of the company’s billing and account receivables areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Designs/utilizes a variety of reports to identify issues within the Revenue Cycle process to maximize reimbursement.
  • Identifies trends and analyzes metrics to continually improve processes and key performance indicators within the Revenue Cycle department.
  • Leads reconciliation efforts to ensure consistency within departments and outsourced vendors.
  • Responsible for generating and distributing daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports to concerned stakeholders within the organization.
  • Supports Revenue Cycle Leadership, Executive Leadership and Operations Teams with report requests on an ad hoc basis.
  • Identifies tracks and trends denials & underpayments across payers and financial classes according to established company contracts.
  • Supports strategic plan to focus efforts and resources on high priority areas to improve cash flow and net revenue realization
  • Documents, analyzes, and trends billing and collection activities and communicates to stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Prepares reports and data as directed to support departmental goals, metrics, and KPI’s.
  • Analyzes and interprets financial and operational data, financial trends and reports.
  • General knowledge of GAAP accounting, general ledger and accounting processes pertaining to revenue recognition

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience
  • Revenue Cycle healthcare experience required
  • Bachelor’s Degree (required)
  • Advanced Degree such as MBA (preferred)
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel (required)
  • SQL (e.g. database creation, manipulation and querying). (preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to interact with facility departments. (required)
  • Strong project management and problem solving skills. (required)
  • Strong accounting foundation required and familiarity Revenue Cycle relationship with a financial statements. (required)
  • Ability to work independently, achieve tight deadlines and take initiative on multiple projects. (required)

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Includes both a typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, and occasional local and/or overnight travel. Mode of transportation for travel typically will include automobile and plane.
