Responsible to ensure that all Guests (shoppers, donors, and volunteers) receive exceptional guest service. Responsible to ensure that all employees provide excellent guest service through training and coaching. Provides hourly and daily supervision to teams of staff and volunteers in all areas of the thrift business. Supervisors are responsible to lead teams to meet hourly and daily/weekly production goals and ensure individual and team standards are met. Supervisors must be skilled in the areas of training, giving direction and reviewing hourly staff performance. Supervisors are responsible for store operations in the absence of Assistant or Store Managers.

Compensation & Benefits: *

- The Arc pays approximately 75-85% of medical premiums, depending on network and family options
- Dental insurance starting at $2.02 for single coverage and $16.93 for family coverage

Major Responsibilities: *
- Practices and trains, leads/coaches others to follow The Arc Guest Standards
- Pro-actively and positively responds to guest (volunteers, shoppers, donors) concerns and issues
- Effectively promotes Arc’s goodwill, handling all cash wrap interactions in a professional manner
- Provides accurate, current information about The Arc, Value Village, and policies
- Ensures quick assistance and information to donors at donation center
- Responsible to leads teams on scheduled shifts to ensure that daily goals (e.g., rack, box, sales) are understood and met
- Possesses solid skills in selection, pricing, and merchandise organization/display
- Able to perform the job responsibilities of each position in sales, production, and general labor
- Serves as: opening/closing supervisor and handles workplace issues effectively
- Delegates daily work assignments to employees
- Accurately handles all money transactions and activities; follows monetary policies
- Possesses competencies in and can problem solve the use of store equipment and technology
- Trains employees in the job responsibilities of each position in sales, production, and general labor
- Follows through on completing daily project lists, delegating, and monitoring employee’s work
- Sets standards for employees and volunteers serving as a role model for best practices
- Leads sales and seasonal events as needed
- Prepares, writes, and leads employee performance reviews as assigned
- Screens and interviews prospective employees
- Provides leadership assistance for challenging (guest, loss prevention) situations as needed
- Handles all store injuries or emergencies per established best practices
- Trains and monitors all employees in relation to Arc’s Zero Tolerance and Merchandise Policies
- Responsible to monitor activity on the sales floor, in the production room and donation center to maintain safe conditions for guests and employees
- Arrives to work on time/completes assigned shifts with few exceptions
- Participates as part of a of the VV leadership team, placing a priority on teamwork and positive attitude

Qualifications: *
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate required
- 2-3 Years Retail Supervisory Experience preferred
- Able to communicate and effectively lead employees and engage with all guests (shoppers, donors, and volunteers)
- Competent with basic technology (Microsoft suite)
- Able to lift boxes and bags that weigh 30 – 50 lbs.
- Able to bend, stoop, stand and walk continuously throughout assigned work shift
- Able to work varied hours/days as business dictates
