Restorative Care Nurse
The Citadel Care Center of Sterling is seeking a Restorative Care Nurse to join our team. The primary purpose of the Restorative Care Nurse is to perform restorative nursing procedures that maximize the resident’s existing abilities, emphasize independence instead of dependence and minimize the negative effects of disability within the attitude of realistic optimism.
Restorative Care Nurse Essential Job Functions:
- Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs restorative care services, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern nursing care facilities.
- Meets with administration, medical and nursing staff, therapy department, as well as other related departments in planning restorative care.
- Develops and maintains restorative care standards.
- Assists the Quality Assessment and Assurance Committee in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies.
- Assumes the authority, responsibility and accountability of directing restorative care services.
- Performs administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., as necessary.
- Interprets restorative care policies and procedures to personnel, residents, family members, etc., as necessary.
- Assists the Administrator and/or HR Director in the recruitment and selection of competent restorative care personnel.
- Provides direct nursing care as necessary and as department needs may dictate.
- Ensures that all restorative care notes are informative and descriptive of the treatment provided and of the resident’s response to the care.
- Develops and participates in programs designed for in-service education, on the job training and orientation classes for newly assigned personnel.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing
- Must have, as a minimum, one (1) year of experience in restorative care
- Must have training in rehabilitative and restorative therapy practices
- Previous experience in long-term care is preferred
