Respite/Supported Community Living Supervisor - Iowa City Details

ChildServe is hiring a Community Services Supervisor. You will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of Community Services, including Respite, Supported Community Living and the Autism Day Program.



What You’ll Do

  • Provide oversight of capacity, admissions, waiting list status for services.
  • Provide planning and oversight of group services. Organizes and leads group and individual activities designed to promote social, emotional, and intellectual development.
  • Plan and oversee the summer group respite program to include preparation, training, funding, and communication to families and staff.
  • Prepare program funding. Schedule, verify, and monitor utilization of services as authorized.
  • Participate in recruiting and hiring activities including managing applicant flow, tracking and data management related to the process.
  • Provide training on interventions and techniques related to skill development, behavior management, and positive behavior support. Provide child-specific training to staff.
  • Schedule services in accordance with established staffing ratios and service occupancy targets.
  • Assures accurate and timely billing.
  • Provide oversight to ensure achieve results with budgeted utilization, occupancy and ratios for identified services.
  • Participate in establishing and monitoring service outcomes.
  • Identify and pursue grant opportunities and provide oversight/management of grants for the locations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of available ChildServe and community resources that are available to children and families.
  • Demonstrate effective conflict resolution, team building, and positive communication skills when interacting with others.
  • Provide direct care in Respite/SCL/Autism Day Program as needed.


What You’ll Need

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Required: Minimum of one year supervisory experience
  • Preferred: One year experience working with children with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Preferred: Experience in Respite and SCL services
  • Demonstrate proficient organizational and time management skills with developed problem solving skills and decision-making, and ability to prioritize multiple demands.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with others, both verbally and in writing, and foster effective relationships with co-workers, children, and families.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office, and ability to proficiently learn new software programs.
  • Must be able to pass a ChildServe physical examination at commencement of employment and thereafter as regulations require.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing and speaking the English language

Schedule

  • General business hours Monday - Friday between 8am-5pm, can vary if needed.
