Overview:Position #: 1668Responsibilities:

  • Ensures quality patient care by assisting in the management of clinical respiratory practice and patient care delivery that supports optimal patient outcomes. Serves as resource for respiratory care practices and development. Creates a therapeutic health care environment to enhance care delivery.
  • Assists in preparing, planning and executing budgetary standards. Assists in the monitoring operating and capital budgets.
  • Collects and interprets assessment data, recognizes subtle changes in pt/family condition. Formulates an individualized plan of care for the patient with needs to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Oversees documentation of patient care activities as per documentation standards and assists health care team members with documentation. Evaluates outcomes of documentation and participates in performance improvement activates related to documentation.
  • Facilitates unit and facility teams/committees that impacts practice, integrates and links unit committee initiatives to facility initiatives. Facilitates the interdisciplinary team and incorporates the interdisciplinary team to achieve outcomes. Serves as a change liaison for implementing practice initiatives.
  • Ensures patient care area compliance with professional regulatory and government standards of care. Ensures responsibility for the quality improvement process. Recognizes trends in patient care delivery and explores opportunities for improvement which are evidence based.
  • Analyzes practices that contribute to variances, draws conclusions from collected data, identifies resources to assist in variance analysis. Facilitates the development/revision of standards for patient populations. Monitors patient care satisfaction.
  • Assists staff in their professional development and in the identification of needed resources to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Recognizes behaviors that impact team function and implements strategies to optimize teamwork: serves as a mentor for team members: provides consistent communication and demonstrates mutual support. Facilitates leadership development among colleagues: acts as role model and assists in the development of mentors.

Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's Degree and a NJ Respiratory Care Practitioner license is required
  • Two years job-related experience in hospital setting and demonstrated competency in charge role.
  • AHA ACLS-Adv Cardiac Life Supp,AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider,FIT Mask Test
  • Frequent physical demands include: Sitting , Standing , Walking , Carry objects , Pinching/fine motor activities , Keyboard use/repetitive motion
    Occasional physical demands include: Push/Pull , Twisting , Bending , Reaching forward , Reaching overhead , Squat/kneel/crawl , Wrist position deviation
    Continuous physical demands include:
    Lifting Floor to Waist 25 lbs. Lifting Waist Level and Above 15 lbs.
