Involves the restoration of patient's respiratory and pulmonary function; alleviates pain; plans and administers prescribed respiratory therapy. Conducts pulmonary functions tests, administers treatments, and completes discharge planning with other members of the patient's clinical team. Maintains compliance with federal, state and local legal and certification requirements. Serves as a respiratory clinical specialist for staff, nurses and physicians. May supervise respiratory therapists, and / or hold daily shift responsibility for department operations and assigning caseloads. · Develops, plans, and delivers training and educational materials for respiratory therapists and staff.· Mentors and assists with program development for students, interns, and trainees. Nine (9) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus five (5) years of related experience/training. Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) in the state of California. BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date. Experience and proven knowledge in respiratory care theory and industry best practices. Proven ability to apply knowledge and skills to recommend improvements to Respiratory operations.
