The Residential Coordinator (RC) works with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities providing assistance and instruction to strengthen life skills. This position requires a responsible and reliable self starter as you will be assisting adults with day to day living. This full-time position requires experience in planning and implementing services and support, program quality, and licensing compliance for intellectual/developmental disabilities. The Residential Coordinator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation. It involves quality assurance, training of staff, preparation of programmatic and financial data and reports, and personnel related responsibilities. This job title is an exempt position as specified in NJAC 12:56-7.2.

Looking to fill a manager position in Jersey City, NJ FT 40hrs M-F 9a-5p, flexibility a must for the needs of the program.

Responsibilities included but not limited to:

  • Responsible for reading, knowing and complying with all appropriate governing documents in the administration of their programs be it contracts, agency policies and procedures, State or Federal standards, specific program operations manuals and circulars both internal and external, and the like
  • Ensures compliance with the agency’s Operations and Personnel Manuals and the Division of Developmental Disabilities Standards Manual.
  • Attends meetings and trainings as directed by the Department Director and/or designee.
  • Initially interviews possible Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for the Department and provides recommedentation to hire.
  • Ensures maintenance of dietary and nutritional information on clients; making sure nutritional and dietary needs are met. Monitors Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) cards and benefits.
  • Ensures all Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and supporting documentation are implemented and consistent with agency and State philosophy and requirements and monitors same.
  • Prepares for ISP meetings by completing Residential Provider Forms
  • Supervises maintenance of home and property, assuring safe, clean, and orderly environment.
  • Ensures proper program coverage by staff at all times, consistent with client needs and program budget.
  • Participates in and ensures accuracy of payroll reporting, responsible for adhering to staff scans and enforces policy. Requesting and Reporting overtime accurately.
  • Supervises medication dispersion and documentation.
  • Monitors and ensures completion and adherence to the New Jersey Department of Human Services College of Direct Support (CDS) mandated training.
  • Facilitates appropriate family and guardian contacts, ensures confidentiality and HIPAA information is safeguarded in all conversations, interactions, and communications.
  • Monitors and approves submission of daily logs for the purpose of ensuring proper billing documentation.
  • Reports all injuries according to Komnino’s Law 2018.
  • Maintains professional demeanor in all interactions with clients, supervisors, staff, families, neighbors, professionals and others involved in the program (verbally, through writing and physical demeanor).
  • During off hours, serves as the “On Call” (24 hours/7 days) in case of an emergency in order to provide coverage or as directed by the Director of Residential Services. Reports and notifies concerns accordingly.
  • Works flexible hours as necessary for the benefit of the program.
  • Participates in new client referral/intake process for participants.
  • Assists with ensuring the implementation and monitoring of the department’s Continuous Quality Improvement system and creates corrective action plans as needed.
  • Ensures and monitors Fraud, Waste, Abuse understanding by all staff.
  • Ensures that a safe and healthy environment is maintained for all clients at all times
  • Cooperates with the Licensee and Division staff in any inspections or investigations.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by the Director of Residential Services and/or the Chief Executive Officer or his/her designee.

Hours must be flexible but are assigned as 9a-5p, $38K yearly salary, Benefits packages after 60 days, must work flexible shifts to monitor programs. On Call responsibilities.

All employees must follow any covid-19 mandated guidelines such as wearing a mask or completing risk assessments.


Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, Psychology or related field, or Equivalent experience.

Valid New Jersey Driver’s License.

Twenty-one years of age or older.

Strong computer skills in Microsoft word and excel.

Minimum of three-year experience with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities including one-year residential experience.

Supervisory experience in a residential program preferred.

Professional disposition.

A negative i3Screen (drug test) result mandated by Grantor.

Must be cleared to work by the Department of Human Services FBI fingerprints.

1. Must complete medical physical and Mantoux test within sixty (60) days prior to date of employment.

2. Must complete Danielle’s Law, Komnino’s Law, and Medications trainings through the College of Direct Support (CDS) prior to hire.

3. Must complete Pre-Service Training Bundle within the first 60 days of employment.

4. Must have the ability to communicate with the individuals with whom they are working.

5. Must be capable of providing any direct assistance to the individuals with whom they are working.

6. Must be free from any physical, emotional or mental functioning limitation or restrictions that would prevent the successful completion of any and all job responsibilities of this job title.

7. Must have the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

8. Must be willing to work flexible hours.

9. Must remain awake at all times while on shift.

10. Must have an active phone number that can be accessed for program coverage and/or emergencies.
