In general, this position will assist in the setup, operation and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment, monitoring experiments, making observations, and calculating and recording results. Requirements We are seeking a highly motivated research technician for the CCG genomics platforms. The successful candidate will use cutting-edge technologies for tumor profiling, with a focus on single-cell RNA-sequencing. The position involves processing of fresh and frozen clinical tumor samples and performing molecular biology techniques such as 10x Genomics single-cell workflows, DNA isolation and quantification, manual and automated library preparation, PCR, target enrichment, and high-throughput massively parallel (Illumina) sequencing. Duties include independently operating and maintaining equipment, generating data to identify mutations in cancer samples, completing projects in a timely fashion, providing progress updates at weekly meetings and to collaborators, and working in a collaborative, exciting, and fast-paced team environment. Qualifications BS or MS with experience in molecular biology or biochemistry. Prior laboratory experience is required. Next Generation Sequencing experience preferred but not required. The candidate will be self-motivated, detail oriented, responsible, flexible, and possess excellent organizational and analytical skills. Computational experience is welcome. Recent graduates with lab-experience who aspire to attend graduate or medical school are encouraged to apply, as this position is excellent preparation for school admission.
