Summary The Dere Lab in the Center for Precision Environmental Health is looking for a talented individual to join the team. The Dere lab focuses on studying a novel role for chromatin modifiers, often lost in renal cell carcinoma, in regulating cytoskeletal dynamics in cellular processes such as mitosis and establishment of primary cilia during quiescence. The laboratory utilizes several unique methodologies including biochemistry, genetics, mass spectrometry, imaging and other cell biology-based assays. This position requires a technician who is self-motivated and would principally be involved in performing experiments outlined by the Principal investigator. Research in the lab would include cell culture, maintaining human and mouse cell lines, transfections and infections of cells in culture, generating stable cell lines expressing gene of interest. Additionally, the technician would entail biochemical experiments that will include protein expression, purifications, methylation/demethylation and kinase assays, western analysis, immunoprecipitations, and fluorescent staining of cells. The technician will also isolate DNA, maintain buffer stocks and other laboratory stocks. 10587 CA
