In general, they will assist in the set up, operation and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment, monitoring experiments, making observations and calculating and recording results. Responsibilities We intend to hire a senior mouse research technician in Dr. Alan D’Andrea’s laboratory and Center for DNA Damage and Repair (CDDR) focused on studying DNA repair and cancer. The individual will be trained and will be expected to work independently under general supervision. The applicant must demonstrate outstanding personal initiative and the ability to work effectively in a team. The individual will be an integral member of the research group and will provide intellectual input, perform data analysis and participate in lab meetings, and work collaboratively with members of the lab. The position will involve performing routine in vivo techniques related to mouse projects. The primary responsibilities include but not limited to: Qualifications This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a B.S., B.A., or an equivalent degree with prior 1-2 years of hands-on experience in mouse studies. The position will be best filled by an individual with knowledge of basic research using mouse models, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, basic computer skills, and the ability to identify potential problems and trouble-shoot solutions.
