Position Summary: We are looking for a Research Assistant (classified as a II or III) to work with three of our clinics involved in over 30 clinical trials. You will work under general direction of senior research staff, conducts activities to support research projects. You must be able to exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices. These are critical care clinics, and some of the research projects will involve looking at patients exposed to or with Covid-19. You will need to go back and forth between three locations (all in the Medical Center) to assist with research projects and handling research patients. You could screen subjects over the phone, or help to schedule them for appointments. It is a somewhat of a catch-all position that must be willing to adapt and be flexible. You will be eligible for all UTHealth benefits including coverage under our healthcare programs as well as participation in a State run pension program. This is a full time role that is classified as non-exempt. The work location will be in the Texas Medical Center in and around our McGovern School of Medicine Building. This location is accessible by Metro rail and bus lines. Position Key Accountabilities: Certification/Skills: General knowledge and some detailed concepts of research field assigned. Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree or relevant four years experience in lieu of education. Minimum Experience: One year of related experience in a research or clinical lab environment. Physical Requirements: Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects. May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.
