Community Regional Medical Center is the flagship hospital of Community Medical Centers – a private, not-for-profit healthcare system based in Fresno, California, and the largest healthcare provider and private employer in central California. With 685 beds , we are home to the only Level 1 Trauma and comprehensive burn centers between Los Angeles and Sacramento. Responsibilities:
Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is adding an additional position to the Command Center which is the hub of CMC patient flow. This position works closely with internal and external physicians, supervisors and leadership to facilitate safe movement of patients into appropriate inpatient rooms or areas of the hospital.
In this role you will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to facilitate safe patient throughput across the continuum of care. Command Center RN’s are trained to both transfer center and bed control functions.
Essential accountabilities include:
Transfer Center
Triage and prioritize in-coming transfer requests based on EMTALA, Level 1 Trauma and CMC transfer center algorithms.
Analyze patient information and communicate an accurate assessment of the patient’s condition to CMC Providers for acceptance consideration.
Collaborate with physicians and office staff to coordinate direct admits to CMC.
Manage multiple phone lines and accurately document all cases in the Electronic Transfer Center database.
Bed Control
Monitor inpatient bed status and prioritize requests based on CMC bed control algorithms.
Analyze patient information and determine appropriate bed assignment based on physician orders, clinical criteria and knowledge of unit admission criteria.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to efficiently manage facility resources.
Manage multiple phone lines and accurately document all cases in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Qualifications:
Minimum requirements include: Associates degree in Nursing. Two years of acute care experience as a Registered Nurse. Current RN license for the state of California and BLS certification.
Preferred requirements include: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or health related field. Three or more years of experience in Registered Nursing across a wide spectrum of Inpatient and ED specialties. Knowledge of EMTALA, call center operations, patient throughput, direct admissions and patient transfers.
