Position Summary

Radiology Nursing combines the Nursing Process with quality patient care to safely optimize diagnostic or therapeutic benefits of imaging procedures in the Radiology Department. The radiology nurse is qualified and prepared to handle unexpected emergencies that may occur during imaging or interventional procedures. The radiology nurse may also assist in providing continuity of care for critically ill patients during imaging or interventional procedures. The radiology nurse acts as a liaison between radiology, patient care units and ambulatory services. This position may require working all shifts. The ideal candidate will have previous radiology experience.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Education: N/A

• License/Certifications: Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine. Certification in BLS and ACLS.

• Experience: Several years' acute care nursing experience; critical care experience preferred.

• Competency in physical assessment, nursing process, aseptic techniques, IV skills, moderate sedation and universal precautions.

• Demonstration of professional interest through self-development, continuing education and involvement in professional organizations.
