We are looking for a Registered Nurse with surgical inpatient and/or pain management specialty experience. RN will provide specialty inpatient pain management to patients after complex medical procedures or patients living with chronic illness/pain syndromes.

About the Unit

The Pain Service Nurses deliver IV PCA Therapy to adult and pediatric inpatients. Major populations served are post-surgical patients, trauma, oncology and medical patients with acute pancreatitis or sickle cell crisis. The PCA Service’s major activities are patient assessment, and screening and work with the primary service to suggest alternative pain management modalities and adjunctive medications to increase patient’s analgesia.

What You Need to Be Successful:
  • Currently licensed as an RN in the state of Maryland or eligible to practice under a compact license;
  • BSN preferred (Associates Nurses with at least 1+ years of experience);
  • All applicants must have at least 1-2 yrs. preferred experience in surgical inpatient and/or pain management specialty.
  • Position requires critical thinking and ability to work independently and as part of a team providing specialty inpatient pain management to patients after complex medical procedures or patients living with chronic illness/pain syndromes.
