Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate RN for our Operating Room. The person in this position will be an experienced licensed Registered Nurse, who provides patient care as part of a multi-disciplinary team based on national standards and utilizing the nursing process. The Registered Nurse also is responsible for the direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering said patient care. As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Operating Room (OR), some of your task and responsibilities will be to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of specific disease processes, treatments, interventions, and responses based on age specificity.
  • Confirm the identity of the patient.
  • Verify operative procedure and site.
  • Assure documentation of vital signs.
  • Verify allergies.
  • Note condition of the skin.
  • Report deviation of diagnostic studies.
  • Determine mobility of body parts.
  • Note abnormalities, injuries, and previous surgeries.
  • Identify presence of external and internal prosthesis/implants.
  • Note sensory impairment.
  • Complete assessment of cardiovascular, respiratory and renal status.
  • Note nutritional status.
  • Screen for substance abuse.
  • Communicate physiological data relevant to planning patient's discharge.
  • Continuously reassess and document all components of patient care based on relevant data.
  • Communicate/document physical health status.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Florida or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions).
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and certification.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and certification.
  • CNOR preferred.
  • Graduate from a school of nursing (ASN) required. BSN preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience required.
