Virginia Mason Memorial is looking for an RN to join our Float Pool. The Float Pool provides back-up staffing throughout the hospital, including the Emergency Department and our inpatient Psychiatry Unit. Float Pool RNs also work at Memorial's hospice house, Cottage in the Meadow. Given this professional variety, Float Pool RNs are trained in each unit they support. We consider nurses at all experience levels for our Float Pool. RNs in the Float Pool enjoy the full support of Shift Coordinators, Assistant Nurse Managers, and NACs – both day and night - and Float Pool premium pay. RNs at Virginia Mason Memorial also enjoy support from a 24-hour Lift Team, 24-hour Respiratory Team, Pharmacy (24-hour med mixing), IV Therapists, Physical Therapists, Social Workers and Chaplains. The RN completes individualized patient assessments; develops a care plan based on assessment/history findings; delivers patient-centered care that is culturally appropriate; evaluates a patient’s response to care and revises as needed. The RN is accountable to deliver care as well as to oversee and delegate to other personnel (clinical & non-clinical) in delivering/supporting the delivery of care.
Education: Associate's degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
Experience: Previous acute care nursing experience preferred.
Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Washington State (DOH) Registered Nurse licensure required. American Heart Association BLS required until ACLS and PALS are obtained. ACLS and PALS required within one year of hire.
