Perform clinical nursing duties which include nurse visits, providing direction to LVNs, MAs, and clinic volunteers and back-up nursing triage. Assist in normal clinic operational functions including patient flow, Quality Assurance activities, nursing policies, and procedures, etc. Work in collaboration with other staff to uphold clinic standards and improve patient care. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Nurse Visit
1. Handle a high volume of patients with face-to-face inquiries and walk-ins requesting care.
2. Perform nursing assessment, intervention, and planning by using the SOAP format.
3. Provide medical advice as needed for all lifecycles as appropriate.
Other Clinical
4. Record medical histories using the appropriate format.
5. Take and record anthropometric, biochemical, and other physiological measurements.
6. Perform basic in-clinic analytical laboratory tests and obtain and process specimens for outside laboratory analysis.
7. Perform basic nursing procedures as needed such as injections, skin tests, phlebotomy, dressing changes, etc.
8. Perform or assist with EKG, spirometry, audiometry, and other tests.
9. Assist physicians during exams as needed.
10. Maintain sample medication supplies.
11. Perform additional clinic duties as may be required.
Administrative
12. Maintain, facilitate, and improve clinic operations and procedures with other clinic staff.
13. Participate in the recruitment, screening, orientation, and training of volunteers and new staff in the nursing area.
14. Participate in the development of nursing policies and procedures as requested, working in conjunction with the Nursing Coordinator.
15. Participate in staff development training and activities that advance professional and personal growth.
16. Assist in coordinating the work schedule of LVNs, MAs, and clinic volunteers.
1. Formal training as a Registered Nurse with a current State of California license. At least one year of experience as a registered nurse in a clinic or hospital. Experience working in a health care setting.
2. Bilingual/bicultural in an Asian language (Cantonese, Vietnamese, Korean, Tagalog, Laotian, Mien, etc.)
1. Familiarity with and/or knowledge of the Asian community.
2. Commitment to community health care.
3. Familiarity with community clinics.
1. Registered Nurse with a current State of California license
2. Current CPR certification
