Your day.



As an RN Educator you need to know how to:




  • Provide clinical expertise relating to assigned area for patients, families as well as for a variety of healthcare professionals


  • Utilize nursing process for each patient through the nursing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation


  • Assist in coordinating a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care with other members of the care team


  • Provide individual and group education to patients and families


  • Provide accurate assessments of a patient's physical and emotional status, identify learning needs and any unique special requirements needed to facilitate a positive learning environment for the patient, patient support/family and the community in the applicable specialty area


  • Act as a resource person to healthcare professionals in the hospital, home care and the community regarding specialty area


  • Consult with physician regarding patient's treatment and educational plans

  • Develop communication tools to support effective education and disease management




Your experience.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)


  • Three years relevant experience and two years of previous formal training/education experience, required


  • Current/valid Registered Nurse license from the state licensing board


  • Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association (additional specialty certifications may be required depending on facility/department)



Preferred:




  • Current ACLS certification


  • Previous formal education activities
