Job Title: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
Position Type: Part-time (at least 2 shifts per week), hourly non-exempt
Hours: Primarily evenings (3:30-6:30) and weekends based on client availability.
Location: Client home(s)
Reports to: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)/Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA)
Benefits:
o Pay rate of $19-$25 per hour based on experience, level of education and other certifications. Probationary pay rates available for staff who have not yet completed their RBT credentialing process
o Sick time
o Mileage $0.50 per mile after first 10 miles to/from home and all miles between clients/clinic
o Supervision by Board Certified Behavior Analyst that meets BACB requirements for Supervised Independent Fieldwork
o Annual performance appraisal that is tied to raises
Job Description
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement individualized treatment plans as written and directed by BCBA/BCaBA with children ages 3-15 diagnosed with autism
- Document client progress and graph data as instructed
- Complete required session and scheduling documentation
- Attend scheduled trainings and team meetings
- Uphold professional ethics as outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) RBT Ethics Code
- Uphold best practices, and the mission, vision, and values of BASES Autism Services as outlined by the Staff Handbook
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and the ability to meet Illinois' driving requirements with dependable means of transportation
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination in accordance with FDA guidance
- RBT Certification or ability to complete training requirements in the first month of employment
- Demonstrate ability to implement ABA strategies outlined on the RBT Task List
- Safety-Care or Safety-Care for Families Specialist Certification or ability to complete training requirements in the first month of employment
- CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to complete training requirements in the first month of employment
- Works both independently as well as part of a team
- Empathetic and supportive with staff, clients and families
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to stand and move around, get up and down from the floor or a chair, and otherwise able to play with a child for several hours at a time.
- Ability to see for purposes of reading laws and codes, rules and policies, and other printed matter and observing students
- Ability to hear and understand speech at normal speech levels, in the English language
- Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand normal conversation
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Ability to tolerate moderate to high stress levels
- Daily travel moving between client residences in the Chicagoland area
- Ability to utilize Safety-Care Training when interacting with individuals that may be displaying physically aggressive, self-injurious, or socially inappropriate behavior
