The Youth Therapeutic Respite Program (YTRP) is looking for dedicated and compassionate Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) to join our team. RBTs work closely with behavior analysts to implement behavior reduction and skills acquisition interventions to youth during their stay with YTRP. This position assists youth with day to day activities, monitors their behavior, records and collects data on youth’s progress, supports direct care staff in meeting fidelity with token/reinforcement system created for milieu management, and collaborates with YTRP counselors, nurses, case managers, behavior analysts, education coordinators, psychiatrists, and other direct care staff. RBTs assists with training direct care staff and modeling appropriate responses to youth’s behavior. RBTs will assist with parent/caregiver training as youth prepare for discharge to their natural environment.


Program Description: The Youth Therapeutic Respite Program will provide a safe, enriching environment that provides a wraparound approach to offering care coordination, family partner services, and an array of innovative therapies for youth between ages 5-17 years old with behavioral health needs. Evidence-based practices will be implemented in play therapy, sand tray therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy, family therapy, applied behavior analysis, brief-solution focused therapy and more. This 16-bed, 24/7 structured and therapeutic program will focus the following objectives.

  • Provide culturally sensitive and linguistically diverse services that focus on reunification and development of meaningful relationships.
  • Provide a safe, supportive, and accepting environment.
  • Provide services and supports that stabilize, enrich, and develop skills to support effective coping, problem-solving and socialization skills.
  • Connect and partner with BTCS services and/or community services, supports and other resources that will help the child and family with a successful transition to their home environment.

To meet the above objectives, therapeutic and structured services will be provided that include educational, behavioral, and other recovery and trauma-informed focused activities. The treatment team may include Psychiatrist, and other medical providers, Mental Health Professionals, Family Partners, teachers, Care Coordinators, and Licensed Therapists.

Credentials Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma and experience working with children in behavioral health or related field. Active Registered Behavior Technician Certificate with Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). Must have a valid Texas Driver's License and maintain approved driver’s status throughout employment.

Preferred Qualifications: Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in Spanish
