What You’ll Do BASIC JOB SUMMARY: The Regional Director/VP of Sales is directly responsible for the Sales Department’s contracting of trucks and drivers based on Company gross profit guidelines, volume and customer satisfaction standards. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Develop and initiate actions to meet division sales and profit objectives. 2.Develop an annual merchandising plan that will identify potential customers, maintain contact with our existing customer base and help in the achievement of the Company's sales objectives. 3.Keep current on market trends, competitive activities and pricing. 4.Review all deals presented and qualify for acceptance. 5.Supervise implementation of drivers and trucks to customers. 6.Handle customer complaints expeditiously in keeping with Company policy. 7.Sell Dedicated as directed by President. 8.Attend business and civic functions as assigned by Management. 9.Utilize all sales tools provided by the Company, including proposals, visuals, cost comparisons, promotional and sales items. Assist in creating additional sales tools as needed. SUPERVISION 1.Direct Account Managers so as to achieve Company goals. Assist the account managers in proposal preparation, presentation, and closing. Meet weekly and review the past week's sales activity as well as the Account Managers’ Weekly Work Plan for the coming week and month. Contact each Dedicated customer a minimum of once a quarter. 2.Recruit, interview, hire or dismiss personnel. 3.Train employees to perform job functions. 4.Prepare and assign sales solicitation activities. 5.Evaluate and counsel with sales employees on job performance. ADMINISTRATION 1.Maintain records of individual account managers’ sales performance and solicitation efforts, and review with management and individual account managers. 2.Review all documents related to dedicated contracts to assure they are complete and meet all Company and legal requirements, and are properly executed. Verify that all applications presented to finance and insurance sources are complete, and properly prepared. 3.Prepare sales reports, maintain customer files, and other records, as directed by management. 4.Know and understand the federal, state and local laws which govern trucking. 5.Introduce customers to Miller personnel to emphasize to customers the quality and efficiency of Company operations and assist with implementation and account management after the deal is signed. 6.Assist the Company's staff in the collection of accounts receivable for assigned customers.
