The Regional Director of Resort Maintenance provides functional maintenance & facilities leadership for all Holiday Inn Club Vacations resorts within their assigned region, with the primary goals of protecting assets, driving guest satisfaction, supporting business performance and partners while enhancing the brand.

As a business partner to the Vice Presidents of Operations, this role has overall responsibility for consulting and developing the engineering strategy within their area. They provide strategic consultation to the general managers (GM), and repair and maintenance leaders to manage resorts assets with an eye for excellence.

  • This role is expected to travel 50-60% depending on the season and business needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:

  • OUR PEOPLE
    • Assist GM in the development of PDPs, evaluation and active coaching to develop Brand hearted maintenance leaders. Demonstrate a culture of learning and mentorship for continual performance development.
    • Partner with Human Resource Directors to analyze and recommend adjustments to staffing, performance targets and resources to achieve results. Oversight of resort engagement plans, talent review, and succession planning.

    2. GUEST EXPERIENCE
    • Demonstrate Brand hearted leadership by putting the brand at the center of all business decisions.
    • Lead resort maintenance leaders in the planning and implementation of preventive maintenance programs to ensure the facilities are well maintained and safe for staff and guests.
    • Mentor resort maintenance leaders to identify safety and service improvements, process barriers, risk and opportunities to extend the life of assets and develop corrective action plans.
    • Partner with Resort Development leads on renovation projects, scheduling, and scope. Assist resort leaders with complex projects and monitor contractor performance to budget and quality expectations.

    3. RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS
    • Mentor maintenance leaders to implement and sustain maintenance strategies, standards, reserves planning, stewardship of maintenance budgets, and focused ways of working that result in owner value and guest satisfaction.
    • Accountability for area compliance to energy programs.
    • Assist Safety Compliance Officers (GM’s), facilities leaders and insurance partners with Safety Programs, initiatives, training, testing,and compliance to mitigate risk, reduce liability, and promote a safe resort environment and experience for our team members, guests, and owners

    4. FINANCIAL RETURNS
    • Consultative expertise on the development of resort budgets and allocation of resources to meet financial goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • College degree preferred in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Facilities Certification CEOE, IFMA, or FMA are desired.
  • 10+ years of progressional experience in hotel, resort, or physical plant facilities management.
  • 2+ years of Director level experience required.
  • Working knowledge of all trades and complete understanding and practice of Engineering SOPs.
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems, carpentry, paint, and Life Safety Systems.
  • Knowledge of ADA, NFPA, OSHA and environmental requirements of EPA, CFC, toxic waste, recycling and engineering SOPs.
