The Role: Specific responsibilities of the Recruiting Consultant include: The Recruiting Consultant will provide strategic direction for search assignments in the life sciences, including the development and implementation of research plans and target lists. They will be responsible for the approach and recruiting of executives. They will additionally source executives for prospective candidate ideas. The Recruiting Consultant will be responsible for the initial screening/evaluation of candidates via telephone contact for the purpose of developing candidates for subsequent personal interviews. They will evaluate the skill set, abilities, cultural fit, and interest level of each prospective candidate. Sourcing and additional research will be needed to continue to develop a strong candidate flow. The Recruiting Consultant will be responsible for updating the Partner appropriately on recruiting candidate activity and presenting candidates to partners as they have been identified and vetted. By nature of their focus on early candidate development and recruiting, the Recruiting Consultant will have valuable information about specific candidates, the scope of research, and recruiting. Whenever possible, they will participate with the Partner in many of the teleconferences discussing specific candidates and the progress of the search. Additionally, they will ensure that information sent to clients is complete and accurate and properly reflects the client’s needs. Advanced Candidate Development As part of their ongoing training and development, a Recruiting Consultant may accompany a Partner to a candidate interview. Candidate Evaluations, giving a detailed breakdown of the candidate’s background, relevance to the position, and personal assessment, are an integral component of the retained executive search product. Therefore, it is vital that a Recruiting Consultant obtain the necessary information and may be asked to write Candidate Evaluations. They may also be called upon to coach both clients and candidates through the search process to reach a successful outcome. The process of checking references is one of the final steps in the search process. A Recruiting Consultant may assist a Partner in the reference checking process and in the writing of a formal Reference Report. An offer to the final candidate is generally negotiated simultaneously with the final reference checks. As part of this process, a seasoned Recruiting Consultant may be asked to discover the basic compensation requirements of the final candidate to assist in the development of a final offer. A Recruiting Consultant’s role is to support search execution and learn the basics of the business. In the course of providing search execution support, a Recruiting Consultant may discover new business opportunities. These opportunities will be discussed with the most appropriate Partner for follow-up. Skills and Requirements:
