A challenging opportunity is now available for an R&D Scientist/Engineer II in the Manufacturing and Product Technology (MPT) group of UOP R&D.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct experimental plans in support of new product development (NPD) programs with responsibilities including experimental planning, testing, data analysis, ensure alignment of goals of projects with business objectives, etc.
- Complete hands on laboratory and semi-works experiments and indirectly supervise laboratory technicians on carrying out required experimental plans.
- Develop a fundamental understanding of alumina, zeolite (including synthesis and modification), catalyst forming, heat treatment chemistry and unit operations.
- Interface with other UOP departments including Manufacturing & Product Technology, Catalyst Business, Pilot Plants, Manufacturing (ISC), Analytical and Advanced Characterization to ensure robust development programs and effective support of existing technologies
- Stay current on patent and open literature as they relate to development programs and key technology areas.
- Participate in all departmental safety activities and conduct all work with a high degree of attention to safety.
- Utilize six-sigma tools as necessary to implement project work.
YOU MUST HAVE- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Chemistry and 2 or more years of experience in a Chemical R&D role.
- OR PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Chemistry.
