Rail Car Business Manager Major Chemical and Fertilizer Manufacturer Rail Car Business Manager Job Overview Our client, a major manufacturer of Chemicals and Fertilizer is seeking their Rail car Business Manager. He / She will be responsible for overseeing and executing on the company’s rail car ownership and lease business strategy. Position will help to develop the strategy, identify rail car lease customers and identify rail car purchase opportunities. The position will be responsible for investment analysis, strategic planning, market intelligence, lease analysis, deal structuring and pricing for the fleet of rail cars. The position will cross functionally with the Company’s commercial teams, i.e. Trade, Operations, Trade Execution, Legal/Risk, Finance and Business Development. This position reports to the S.V.P. Responsibilities and Duties · Work with other key personnel in the development of a strategic growth plan for the rail car portfolio · Actively execute upon the strategic growth plan by connecting with key potential vendors and customers · Provide economic analysis, financial models and analytical support for evaluating asset investment, divestiture and lease pricing (both new and renewal) · Perform customer and industry research via market intelligence, networking and 3rd party analysis · Follow the key trends throughout the industry and for the relevant commodities to better execute and adjust the strategic growth plan · Attend trade shows for both the rail industry as well as industry events for the key target commodities · Work with existing departments throughout the Company to oversee budgets, spending, maintenance and regulatory requirements · Knowledge of the rail car leasing landscape · This position will be responsible to manage and oversee the entire 3rd party rail car business of the company. Qualifications · Minimum 10 years in the rail car industry at a company that owns a rail car fleet · Candidates should have had experience and exposure to rail car acquisitions and leasing to 3rd party customers · Bachelor’s degree with a basic understanding of finance, statistics, risk management and marketing · Ability to accomplish results and meet deadlines. · Ability to work as part of a team, but also self-driven and motivated to grow a business Strong Business contacts are essential · Excellent communication skills including presentation and listening skills, relationship building skills and demonstrated ability to work across functional areas and levels of management Job Type: Full-time Pay: $180,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year Benefits: Schedule: Supplemental Pay: Education: Experience: License/Certification: Work Location: Remote
