Part-time position: (2 days a week) Monday & Tuesday 8:30am-5pm. (Work schedule is flexible or can be altered) (One day downtown Atlanta- One day in Chamblee, GA-both 1 block or less from Marta Transit station), Excellent Benefits and opportunity for growth.

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of a radiologist, radiology department of the hospital and the Mercy Clinic management performs radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas of procedures. Assist with other clinic duties as needed. Complies with clinic, health system and department policies and procedures and supports the Mercy Philosophy of the hospital. Adheres to the Standards of Excellence. Provides patient care and/ or support activities appropriate to ages served; primarily adults ages 18-65 or geriatric patients ages over 65. May also include care for infant age 0-1 year, child ages 1-12 years or adolescent ages 13-17 years.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High school graduate or equivalent. Satisfactory completion of formal radiographic technology training in an AMA-approved school. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists within 90 days of employment.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Two years previous experience in an acute care facility preferred. One year hospital experience required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must be able to care for patients and get along well with others in a professional manner. Must be customer service oriented and team focused. Must be experienced with technical equipment and able to perform radiographic procedures as directed. Demonstrates competency to work in an acute healthcare facility with patients of all ages including: pediatric (ages birth-18yrs.), adults (ages 18-65) and geriatric patients (over 65). Competency is assessed initially after the 90-day orientation period and annually thereafter.

Position requirements: Technician will be required to work at more than one clinics location.

Ultrasound experience a plus but not required.

Bilingual with Spanish and English is a plus but not required.
