JOB TITLE: Radiology Receptionist
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for greeting customers, scheduling appointments, printing necessary documents.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to Department Manager, Clerical Coordinator and Physicians
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Greets customers in polite, prompt, helpful manner and provides any necessary instructions.
2. Completes necessary paperwork, use of computer system to generate information necessary for registering patients, taking payments, and communicating with staff.
3. Updates patient information, provides any necessary forms needing completion, and obtains signatures as necessary.
4. Maintains clean, orderly work area and waiting area.
5. Answers phones in pleasant manner and deals with customer needs expeditiously.
6. Print daily schedules, fee tickets, reports, etc.
7. Must be competent with clinic computer system.
8. Research problems promptly.
9. Export imaging studies to a disc for the patient to pick-up or mail to referring doctor.
10. Must be able to differentiate between exams and give proper preps, as well as schedule adequate time for exams.

EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of one year experience in customer service, preferably six months receptionist experience in healthcare setting.
KNOWLEDGE:
1. Knowledge of reception tasks, clinic policies/procedures, paperwork.
2. Knowledge of how to use office equipment and computer systems
3. Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques.
ABILITIES:
1. Ability to communicate clearly in person and on the phone and establish/maintain cooperative relationships with patients, families, physicians, staff and other customers.
2. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
3. Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Office setting, well-ventilated and well lit.
Hours: 8 hours/day 5 days/week. May require overtime, including occasional Saturdays.
Physical/Mental Demands:
Must be able to lift 20 pounds and push and pull several hundred pounds
Environment can be very busy and stressful
Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people
This position requires sitting and standing for long periods of time.
