SUMMARY Conducts variety of mechanical and functional tests on subassemblies and final assemblies to ensure equipment functions according to specifications or to determine cause of unit failure by performing the following duties. Perform mass spectrometer tests on equipment. Pressure test equipment and ensure equipment being tested is compatible with the maximum test pressure.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reads test procedures, work orders, test manuals, performance specifications, and schematics to determine testing procedure and equipment to be used.
Reviews blueprints and BOM specification to compare to produced equipment.
Verifies dimensions on mechanical parts
Tests functional performance of systems, and subassemblies.
Reads dials or digital displays that indicate moisture analysis.
Examines joint to detect flaws, such as cracks, cold weld, spatter, and undercuts, using flashlight and magnifying glass. Uses blacklight to exam part for cleanliness.
Compares results with specifications and records test data.
Analyzes test results on defective units to determine cause of failure.
Confers with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and others regarding testing procedures and results and to resolve problems.
Devises test equipment setup to evaluate performance and operation of nonstandard or customer returned units.
Documents test results in accordance with established procedures.
Labels equipment with tags and serial numbers.
Prepare equipment for shipping with necessary end caps and bagging,
Keep measurement equipment operating accurately by following calibration requirements and scheduling repairs.
