MAJOR FUNCTION: The Pt safety/quality Outcomes Manager promotes and contributes to the quality of care administered to patients and their support systems throughout the health illness continuum. The Pt safety/quality Outcomes Manager provides clinical leadership through advanced practice role modeling and professional communication. Specializing in current concepts of performance improvement, demonstrating experience in patient care evaluation methodologies, regulatory agency requirements, criteria development and data analysis techniques and applications. The Pt Safety/Quality Outcomes Manager performs the roles of expert clinician, educator and researcher based on focal priorities. The Pt Safety/Quality Outcomes Manager must have the ability to implement the plan, to supervise and educate others with the implementation and assess its effectiveness QUALIFICATIONS: A. Education: RN with Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field required; Master’s degree preferred B. Experience: Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in an acute care facility with knowledge of data analysis. Knowledge of current concepts in quality improvement. Past involvement in Quality Teams. Excellent verbal, written, organizational and interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of disease and healthcare processes. Demonstrated critical thinking skills, process design, collaboration, teamwork and problem solving to achieve goals. Knowledge of current concepts of quality improvement preferred. Proficiency with word processing, presentation, spreadsheets, process control and database management software including excel, access, and word. C.
