QUALITY ASSURANCE INSPECTOR DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES · Performs a variety of quality control tests/inspections on precision machined Aerospace products, materials, components, hardware, etc. · Performs a variety of quality control tests/inspections on products, materials, components, parts, etc. at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with quality and reliability standards. · Inspects supplier provided parts, assemblies and materials for conformity to standards, specifications, and processing requirements. · Inspects parts and assemblies for compliance to work instructions, checklists, Job Travelers, and Customer Drawing requirements using measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, digital height gages, gage pins, gage blocks, customer supplied fixtures, and other measuring equipment. · Visually inspect parts for scratches, dents, obvious signs of nonconformance, and foreign object debris (FOD). · Read and interpret Customer drawings and specifications. Create and/or fill out inspection reports. · May operate and/or create CMM programs as required. · Performs audits of manufacturing operations · Responsible for proper handling and control of paperwork and traceability of all aerospace material processed in their areas · May require extended periods of time standing · May require moderate lifting (50 lbs. Max) SKILLS REQUIRED Has ability to comprehend mechanical engineering blueprints/drawings. This includes: · Knowledge to properly utilize the following measurement tools: · Knowledge in welding and sheet metal fabrication · Computer skills required: MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Experience & Education · 2 years of QA or inspection experience is desired. · High school graduate preferred.
