LifeWorks NW provides services for adults with severe and persistent mental illness.

The Mental Health Therapist is responsible for assessment, treatment planning, provision of supportive counseling, and coordination of multiple service providers for client caseload. Services are given in clinical, community, and home-based settings.

Location: King site in NE Portland.

Schedule: This is a full-time position.

Compensation: $1,000 sign-on bonus for this position. $48,613 - $52,866 annual salary and full comprehensive benefits.

QMHPs at this LifeWorks NW site qualify for the Oregon Health Care Provider Incentive Loan Repayment and/or the Oregon Behavioral Health Loan Repayment Programs.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Meet standards for documentation and work accuracy, including timely completion of progress notes, assessments, treatment plans, and authorization requests.

• Meet standards for direct service, implementation and utilization of the clinical model, quality of clinical practice, and teamwork.

• Continually increase level of cultural sensitivity, awareness, and competency.

• Client orientations, including advising clients and significant others of the services offered through the program and recommend services.

• Client evaluations and initial intake interviews, including completing the written narrative of evaluation and relevant opening paperwork.

• Identify psychological, emotional, or behavioral issues and diagnoses disorders. Identify appropriate treatment services. Notify clients and significant others of diagnosis and initial recommendations.

• Develop therapeutic treatment plans based on clients' interests, abilities, strengths, and needs.

• Provide individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, medication training and support, individual and/or group skills training, and treatment planning, utilizing interventions drawn from a variety of clinical and rehabilitation approaches as needed by the client.

• Teach clients socially acceptable behavior, employing techniques such as behavior modification and positive reinforcement.

• Interact with clients to assist them in gaining insight, defining goals, and planning action to achieve effective personal, social, educational, and vocational development and adjustment.

• Provide case-coordination by maintaining contact with other agencies, referral sources, and staff regarding client's and significant others' involvement in treatment services.

• Review and evaluate clients' progress in relation to measurable goals described in treatment plans.

• Provide clients or family members with information about mental health and addictions issues, and available services and programs, making appropriate referrals when necessary.

• Report any pertinent information to the proper authorities in cases of endangerment, neglect, or abuse of children, individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, or the elderly.

• Act as client advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.

• Record maintenance, including providing appropriate treatment plans and progress notes.

• Transport clients in a personal vehicle.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related behavioral health field.

• QMHP credential either through Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO) or by obtaining and maintaining active internship or licensure with an eligible state licensing board. Candidates must either have a valid MHACBO registration number or licensing intern number upon hire.

• Experience working with adults diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness.

• Demonstrated ability to provide culturally-competent treatment services to diverse client populations and maintain cooperative working relationship in a culturally diverse environment.

• Good computer skills, including a functional knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word, and ability to master proprietary software including electronic health record system.

• Access to a vehicle, valid driver's license, proof of current automobile insurance coverage, and ability to meet LifeWorks NW's driving requirements.
