The Materials Manager will be responsible for oversight of purchasing, inventory and receiving will take ownership of ensuring PlayPower has the materials needed to keep production running smoothly. This role will have management responsibilities, leading a team to oversee inventory and purchasing.
Essential Responsibilities:- Perform analysis of customer demand, sales forecast, historical material usage to develop and execute raw material inventory plans, and to prepare the external supply chain for changes in material demands.
- Establish and implement methods and best practices related to the systems and processes that support inventory forecasting, purchasing and material control.
- Cross functional project management experience, successfully implementing measurable improvements in the supply chain.
- Identify, develop and manage effective relationships with existing suppliers to meet established cost, quality and just-in-time manufacturing targets
- Work closely with key stakeholders and functional areas of the business to understand and satisfy needs and requirements.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, terms and conditions and legal matters that affect purchasing policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience: - Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or other related business discipline.
- 5+ years of purchasing leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- A proven track record of successfully implementing measurable improvement.
- APICS and/or Purchasing Certification preferred.
Working Conditions: - Office setting; primarily computer and phone-based work.
- May be exposed to heat, noise, dust, etc. while in manufacturing environment.
- Personal protective equipment required when entering production shop area.
