UCT is seeking an experienced and talented Purchasing Manager to join our team in Austin, TX! The main function of this role is to plan, direct, or coordinate the activities of buyers, purchasing officers, and related workers involved in purchasing materials, products, and services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages all purchasing functions related to negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and purchasing systems.
- Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, selling, and distributing materials and supplies.
- Ensures materials are ordered and in stock to meet build requirements, while maintaining acceptable inventory levels.
- Develop material schedules and plan requirements for purchasing materials, using MRP and other planning systems.
- Work closely with customers and other UCT sites to transition materials for new products.
- Work closely with internal groups, including engineering, quality, and sales to ensure functional specifications are met, parts are available as needed, and product quality is maintained.
- Selects develops and evaluates staff members to ensure the efficient operation of purchasing-related functions.

Educational/Certification Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
- APICS/CPIM certification preferred
Experience Requirement:
Work Experience:
- 10+ years relevant experience, with significant materials related technical experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience in semi-con industry and contract manufacturing preferred
Management Experience (for people manager job only):
- 5+ years of management experience
