Distributor/manufacturer located in Elgin is seeking a full-time Buyer. All candidates should have at least 5 years of purchasing experience. The Buyer is responsible for purchasing stocking items, non-stocking items, and raw materials. Excellent opportunity with a growing company. Health Insurance is available. Compensation is dependent on experience.
Duties include:
- Preparing and processing requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of goods, services and supplies
- Conducting research through internet, existing catalogs, calls to manufacturers or distributors, historical quotes etc
- Contacting appropriate supplier for cost and delivery timing
- Forecasting and keeping inventory at proper levels
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or similar is preferred
- 5+ years purchasing experience
- Excellent data entry skills
- Microsoft Word and Excel skills preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills; excellent written and verbal communication capabilities with the ability to negotiate
- Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
- Extreme attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
