Overview: Psychotherapist position in a 10 bed adolescent residential treatment program. This program is currently a substance use disorder program that is in process of converting to a dual diagnosis program. Therapists are part of a multi-disciplinary team including LADCs, psythotherapists, RNs, psychiatric associates, student interns, Nurse Practioner, and MD. This is an evening position and primary tasks include group therapy, miliue managment, individual therapy, crisis intervention, therapeutic activities. Demonstrates clinical competence to assess individual patient needs. Demonstrates clinical competence in disposition planning. Demonstrates clinical competency to partner with multi-disciplinary team in the treatment planning process. Demonstrates competence in developing a clinically relevant transition/discharge plan.
Responsibilities/Job Description: Conducts multi-axial diagnostic assessment, determines clinical interventions, facilitates therapy and provides education for patients and their families. Facilitates treatment planning and manages each case. Responsible for development of transition/discharge plan. Communicates effectively and respectfully with others, including interdisciplinary team and all other contacts. Functions as an interdisciplinary team member. Accepts supervision and consultation with a licensed supervisor for the functions of this position in their clinical practice.
Demonstrates clinical competence in the treatment planning process.
Demonstrates clinical competence in conducting group therapy, family therapy and psycho-education groups.
Demonstrates the ability to advance evidence based practice by utilizing standards, guidelines and pathways for care delivery. Incorporates data and information into practice to continually improve care and practice so that patient outcomes are enhanced.
Promotes a culture of evidence based practice by participation in any of, but not limited to, the following activities:
Qualifications: Master's Degree in psychology, social work, or related field 30 hours of adolescent development instruction 150 hours supervised adolescent experience 12 hours of co-occurring training LADC preferred Valid drivers license
