Description: The American Board of Radiology (ABR) is an independent, not-for-profit organization and is one of 24 national medical specialty boards that make up the American Board of Medical Specialties. We were founded in 1934 to protect the public by assessing and certifying doctors who meet specific educational, training, and professional requirements.
The ABR is seeking a professional, detail-oriented, and motivated Psychometrician to join its team. The Psychometrician is responsible for performing operational exam scoring, item and test analysis, standard setting, and reporting processes for the ABR exams. The ideal candidate will be a team player, with great attention to detail and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in applied settings.

Requirements: Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs psychometric analyses, scoring, standard setting, and reporting for both written and oral examinations.
- Conduct psychometric analyses using classical test theory, item response theory, equating, and standard setting methods across exam administrations.
- Communicate technical psychometric concepts orally and in writing to all stakeholders, including non-technical audience
- Works closely with exam development, governance, and IT to focus on developmental needs related to exams.
- Helps support the research efforts of the ABR by implementing research, performing analyses and writing up publications.
- Clear and Concise documentation of psychometric process, procedures, and analysis
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in psychometrics, educational measurement, quantitative psychology, educational psychology, statistics/applied statistics, or other closely related quantitative field.
- Experience with psychometric methods (CTT, Rash, Equating and standard setting methods), statistical procedures, and their applications.
- Experience with qualitative methods and research is highly desirable.
- Experience designing and analyzing surveys.
- Experience with Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Experience with programming in R
- Experience accessing and working with relational databases and familiarity with SQL is preferred
- Experience in a professional testing organization or similar environment for the psychometrician position a plus
- Fluent in SPSS and WinSteps is a plus
