Overview: Psychologist - Early Childhood Mental Health
The ECMH Psychologist is responsible for developing/implementing an infant and ECMH psychological evaluation program, providing IECMH consultation, assisting with program development and program evaluation as part of an integrated, multidisciplinary ECMH program. The ECMH Psychologist will be involved in the psychology training program and participate in NCH psychology faculty activities (including graduate student training and medical education). The ECMH program provides multi-disciplinary, integrated care, with a continuum of prevention and treatment services for caregivers (e.g., teachers, parents) of children, prenatal through Kindergarten.

Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical services for children and families in the ECMH program; clinical services provided include but are not limited to: psychological and behavioral assessments, consultation, therapeutic interventions, and participation on clinical service teams.
• Engage in the ECMH program’s dissemination of IECMH best practices through learning communities, consultation and technical assistance (e.g., IECMH consultation within pediatric primary care)
• Support program development and evaluation, including quality improvement and research activities (as available) and implementation of regional and state dissemination of evidence-based prevention and treatment models.
• Provide Reflective Supervision and clinical consultation to ECMH clinicians and the multi-disciplinary team (Psychiatry, Psychology, Behavioral Health, Clinical Therapies and Education)
• May supervise clinical services provided by practicum students, psychology interns and post-doctoral fellows in collaboration with the Section of Psychology. Assist in training medical students and residents through conferences, formal lectures, rounds and individual consultations and electives.
• Participate in Departmental rotating on-call coverage after hours.
• Participate in ongoing quality improvement and research as appropriate.

Qualifications: KNOWLEDGE , SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education:

• Ph.D./PsyD degree in clinical or school psychology from an accredited university.

• An APA approved internship in professional psychology required

• Must obtain Ohio Psychology license when eligible and within 6 months from your date of hire.
• Active Ohio driver’s license with proof of auto insurance required.

Skills & Abilities:

• Post-doctoral training in the area of child and adolescent, school, or pediatric psychology strongly preferred.
• Experience in early childhood development and mental health; in identifying, assessing and understanding the integration of behavioral health, trauma symptoms, and child development, in working with the child welfare population, and training/professional development in evidence-based care in ECMH.
• Training/experience in evidence-based models such as Parent Child Interaction Therapy, Child Parent Psychotherapy, Triple P and Trauma-Focused CBT strongly preferred.
• Previous clinical supervision experience required.
