PSR & Peer Support Program Manager

JOB SUMMARY

The Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) and Peer Support Program (PSP) Manager is an integral part of the Specialty Programs Department, which provides recovery-oriented services to individuals with persistent mental illnesses at our outpatient mental health centers across DeKalb County. Under supervision of the Specialty Programs Director, the PSR & Peer Support Program Manager provides daily oversight to each of the these programs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



The Psychosocial Rehabilitation & Peer Support Program Manager:

  • Monitors program expenditures to ensure budget compliance, as presented from the Director;
  • Manages program personnel and daily operations;
  • Demonstrates data-driven decision capabilities in daily operations and long-term planning;
  • Oversees and ensures compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements;
  • Educates agency clinical staff about PSR & Peer Support and works with staff to generate ongoing referrals to the program;
  • Reviews, assesses, and determines eligibility of referrals within three business days of receipt;
  • Provides staff supervision and clinical leadership to ensure programming is provided in accordance with DBHDD standards;
  • Ensures high quality documentation by conducting monthly audits;
  • Assists in maintaining environmental safety and therapeutic milieu for staff and clients
  • Seeks direction from Director, as needed;
  • Ensures requests to the ASO and weekly census/authorization reports are completed by Program Leads;
  • Facilitates clinical team meetings to assist in evaluating progress, developing individual recovery plans & ensuring appropriate level of care;
  • Educates and advocates with staff, family members and other caregivers to support individuals in their recovery;
  • Is a model of flexibility and professionalism;
  • Documents all contact with individuals and completes individual daily progress notes;
  • Works cohesively with co-workers, site physicians, adult outpatient clinicians, administrative staff, agency administration, personal care home providers & family members;
  • Possesses basic computer skills & utilize electronic medical records daily;
  • Passes agency-sponsored defensive driving course, as well as all other agency-required trainings;
  • May be responsible for transporting, via agency vehicle, program participants on community integration outings, as dictated by staffing needs;
  • Requires travel across four PSR and Peer program locations and may require occasional weekend or adjusted hours due to programmatic needs and community events;
  • Additional duties may be assigned by the Director, as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS



Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling and eligible for licensure (LPC or LCSW, preferred); Certification as a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner (CPRP, preferred) or ability to obtain certification within 12 months of hire; Previous experience working with individuals diagnosed with severe, persistent mental illness; Previous leadership experience; Competency in teaching basic group skills, understanding how to engage individuals in treatment & development of self-advocacy; Proficient computer skills to be able to use electronic medical records; Care coordination skills to assist individuals with accessing/linking to additional resources and/or services within the agency and/or community; Must have transportation to and from work, strong interpersonal skills & be a positive team player, ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, & be a positive role model for the organization and individuals served.



WORK CONDITIONS

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Primary office location will be in our Kirkwood Mental Health Clinic; however, travel across all four outpatient clinics will be required. May also require occasional adjusted hours due to programmatic needs and community events; Ability to use a computer, telephone, fax, copy and scanning machine.; Must complete and pass agency-sponsored defensive driving course, as well as all other agency-required trainings.
