MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 6 months of real estate accounting experience (in multifamily or commercial)

  • College degree in accounting
  • Local to the area (no relocation available) POSITION OVERVIEW Perform various accounting functions within the accounting department with the primary responsibility of maintaining accurate general ledgers and financial statements for assigned properties Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor cash position of properties and initiate cash transfers/wires for mortgages and owner distributions Perform bank reconciliations for various accounts (monthly) Perform general ledger account reconciliations and analysis (monthly)
  • Prepare supporting schedules for various accounts (monthly)
  • Prepare transaction journal entries (daily)
  • Prepare and record ancillary income deposits (weekly)
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements for assigned properties
  • Communicate and collaborate with both on-site and regional managers regarding financial matters.
  • Special projects (as needed)
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Must be available for overtime, weekends, or evening work (if needed) at peak times Qualifications and Requirements
  • Accounting degree (or business degree with 30 hours of accounting) or minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience with residential property management accounting
  • Knowledge and understanding of accounting concepts
  • Previous cash management and bank reconciliation experience a plus Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented and ability to adhere to deadlines
  • Team player, professional attitude with a strong work ethic
  • Able to take direction and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced and high-energy work environment
  • Able to review invoices or other documents and determine proper accounting treatment
  • Experience with Resman or other residential property management software a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
