Scismic is supporting the growth of an early stage biotechnology company with the mission to develop a cutting-edge nucleic acid-based platform technology for next-generation treatments for diseases. We are seeking a highly motivated, driven and goal-oriented Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to join our biotechnology company. The successful candidate is expected to manage and ensure the timely execution of multiple milestones across the scientific and business teams in order to achieve our company’s mission and vision. Specific tasks may include, but are not limited to, creating and managing preclinical and clinical development timelines to ensure management and sponsor milestones are met; regularly communicating with partner CROs and CMOs to ensure efficient work flow between organizations; coordinating with legal counsel to oversee the execution of legal agreements such as MTAs, CDAs and Master Services Agreements; supervising and regularly updating internal databases of corporate and scientific compliances; coordinating study sample shipments with third-party collaborators; scheduling and facilitating internal and external project team meetings; and taking care of administrative tasks in the office as needed. S/He will also support the finance team in developing budgets, tracking expenditures and preparing financial reports, and may support business development activities in order to strengthen existing partnerships and cultivate new growth opportunities. The candidate needs to be detail-oriented, highly organized, capable of independently and efficiently prioritizing multiple projects, flexible in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities, have great time-management skills, be an excellent communicator, and passionate about advancing new therapeutics from the laboratory bench to humans. Project Manager - BS/MS/PhD in Biology, Chemistry or a related field plus a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a biopharmaceutical or drug development research setting, including at least 2 years of direct project management or project coordination experience.
Senior Project Manager - BS/MS/PhD in Biology, Chemistry or a related field plus a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a biopharmaceutical or drug development research setting, including at least 3-5 years of direct project management or project coordination experience.
- Organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced research environment with minimal direction, and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with individuals from diverse scientific and business discliplines.
- Ability to effectively problem-solve through critical thinking.
- High degree of initiative and self-motivation with a strong sense of accountability.
- Working knowledge of pre-clinical, clinical and regulatory pathways.
- Proficiency in computer software programs for report generation, data entry and analyses, and timeline and inventory management such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
